Mitzi Navarra | Creative Director

A California native, I began majoring in music at Cal State Fullerton. Life happened and I moved to NJ. I earned an AA with honors at Brookdale CC in music, while taking photography classes along the way. While at Brookdale I played piano in the pit for the college production musical City of Angels. This was a pivotal moment as I realized I just wasn't cut out to be a full-time pianist. At the same time, I met a talented drummer and soon-to-be husband who forgave my lack of rhythm and loved my artistic abilities. In need of a new direction, I followed my other passion, photography. I acquired my bachelors of fine arts degree with a concentration in graphic design from the College of New Jersey in 1997. Upon graduation, my new husband and I headed South, where I began my graphic design career at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution in 1997, while freelancing at night. After working in the corporate world for a few years and developing a strong client base, in 2000, I ventured on my own and established Minava Design – a home-based full-service graphic design studio.

Over the past 2 decades, I have creatively worked with innovative companies and talented individuals, many of whom I have known for years and have come to know as friends. They have been inspirational and creative forces in my career.

I consistently strive to make each project better than the last by providing my clients with the best customer service, experience and design possible.

As the mother to a 4th grader and wife of 26 years to a second grade teacher, I also enjoy cooking gourmet recipes, throwing themed dinner parties for family and friends, running, practicing yoga and traveling whenever possible, taking photographs all along the way.

Behind the logo

The name Minava Design derives from my first and last name. Mi for Mitzi and Nava for Navarra. Nava, as a girl's name means lovely; so, it can also mean my lovely design. The md is my handwriting that is flowing, connected and like a dynamic wave as it embraces the name minava design. Like the wave, my design is a strong force and grabs attention; but, also calming and relatable.
